القيصر إيفان الرابع الرهيب

القيصر إيفان الرابع الرهيب  1530-1584

، أصبح إيفان الرهيب الحاكم في سن الثالثة. بعد وفاة والده ، دوق موسكو  فلاديمير الأكبر  ، ملك كل روسيا فاسيلي الثالث في 3 ديسمبر 1533. قبل وفاته ، كتب فاسيلي وصية ، وبعد أن دعا العديد من النبلاء والميتروبوليت دانيال ، طلب منهم الاعتراف بابنه الأكبر إيفان وريثًا للعرش. أيضًا ، وفقًا لمرسومه ، تم تشكيل لجنة بويار ، كانت مهمتها رعاية إيفان حتى يبلغ من العمر 15 عامًا وتحكم الدولة.

يتذكر القيصر: “لقد تركنا أيتامًا ، وكانت والدتنا ، الملكة المتدينة إيلينا ، أرملة حزينة تمامًا ، وكان الأمر كما لو كنا في وسط ألسنة اللهب: من جميع الجهات تحركت علينا شعوب أجنبية الحرب – الليتوانيون والبولنديون وتتار القرم. ناغاي ، مواطنو قازان … “

 كانت والدته إيلينا جلينسكايا هي الوصي ، ولكن في عام 1538 سممها “البويار”. (الأرستقراطيون الإقطاعيون). حول العرش ، اندلع صراع بين مجموعات البويار على السلطة.

 وفي ديسمبر ، أزالت زوجة فاسيلي الثالث ووالدة إيفان ، إيلينا جلينسكايا ، الأوصياء من السلطة وأصبحت حاكمة دولة موسكو. خلال فترة حكمها ، تمكنت من إنهاء الحرب الروسية الليتوانية وإجراء إصلاح نقدي ، وإدخال عملة موحدة وبالتالي المساهمة في تكثيف التجارة الخارجية الروسية والتنمية الاقتصادية والسياسية للدولة ككل.

ومع ذلك ، في أبريل 1538 ، توفيت عن عمر يناهز 30 عامًا.

ووفقًا لبعض التقارير ، فقد تم تسميمها من قبل Shuiskys ، وهي عائلة أميرية ، والتي وقفت في طابور بانتظار العرش في حالة إنهاء سلالة موسكو. كما انتهى بهم المطاف على رأس الدولة بعد وفاة إيلينا. ثم تبع الانقلاب بعد الانقلاب ، استبدل بعض البويار الآخرين: تبع البيلسكيون آل شيسكي ، ثم مرة أخرى آل شيسكي وفورونتسوف وكوبنسكي وجلينسكي. لم يتجنبوا  إعدام خصومهم السياسيين ولجأوا بنشاط إلى مساعدة الأقنان المسلحين.

عند موت والدة إيفان عاود أعضاء المجلس أبناء الطبقة العليا تحركاتهم، وتولت أحزابهم المتناحرة زمام الحكم تباعاً، ونشروا الفوضى والخلل في المدن نتيجة عنفهم، واستنزفوا في الحرب الأهلية دماء الفلاحين الروس البؤساء العاجزين. وفي غمرة هذه المنازعات كاد الملك الصغير “سيد روسيا بأسرها” أن يكون مهملاً متجاهلاً بل محروماً بائساً في بعض الأحيان. ولما كان يبصر بضروب الوحشية في كل مكان من حوله، فإنه حسبها أسلوباً مقبولاً في السلوك، ومن ثم اختار أعنف ضروب الرياضة، ونشأ شاباً نكدا متقلب المزاج متشككاً. وفجأة، عندما كان ولداً في الثالثة عشرة من عمره، (1544) ألقى إلى كلابه أندريه شويبسكى زعيم أحد أحزاب النبلاء، وتولى زمام الأمور في الدولة، وبعد ثلاث سنوات قام مطران موسكو بتتويجه قيصراً، ثم أمر القيصر بأن ترسل إليه نخبة من الفتيات النبيلات من مختلف أنحاء المملكة، واختار منهن أنستاسيا رومانوفا وتزوج منها، ومن لقب أسرتها سوف يتحدد عما قريب لقب أسرة حاكمة.

 

إيفان الرابع  وجدّه  إيفان الثالث

لُقب إيفان بالرهيب كجده إيفان الثالث الذي جمعته فيه قواسم مشتركة كحاكمين,فكلاهما ضم مناطق جديدة غلى دولة موسكو, وكلاهما قام بإصلاح نظام الدولة. 

تحت حكم إيفان الرابع ، أصبحت قازان وأستراخان خانات  جزءًا من روسيا ، وبدأ ضم خانات سيبيريا. كان إيفان الثالث ، دوق موسكو الأكبر ، أول من قبل لقب “أمير كل روسيا” و “أوتوقراطي”. وكان إيفان الرابع أول من توج ملكًا وأصبح رسميًا ملكًا لروسيا بأكملها. أصدر إيفان الثالث مدونة قوانين روسية بالكامل – قانون القوانين ووضع إيفان الرابع مدونة قوانين جديدة وأنشأ هيئة تمثيلية – زيمسكي سوبور.

تشير حقيقة نقل اللقب من الجد إلى الحفيد إلى أن الناس رأوا في إيفان الرابع خليفة قضية إيفان الثالث. لكن كلمة “هائل” لم تكن تعني في ذلك الوقت على الإطلاق ما هي عليه اليوم. “لقد ثبت أنه عند تطبيقها على القيصر ، فإن لقب” الهائل“ليس له دلالة سلبية. لا يرتبط بفكرة الاستبداد بل بفكرة العظمة..

ووفقا  لإحدى الروايات فإن استخدام  كلمة “الرهيب” لمعنى الشراسة أو ” اللإنسانية” تعود للأجانب الذين زاروا موسكو في عهد ايفان الرابع, فما اعتبره سكان موسكو حينها  “العدالة العظيمة” اعتبره الأجانب  شراسة وطغيانا

  . وأصبح اللقب مع الزمن يرمز لعصر كامل من التاريخ الروسي, في الأدب الأجنبي.

كقائد تميز إيفان الرابع بخططه الاسراتيجية الشجاعة وقاد شخصيا القوات في حملات كازان,والحملة ضد بولوتسك 1563 والحملات الليفونية1572 و1577. وفي النضال من اجل الحصون استخدم على نطاق واسع المدفعية والألغام.

طوّر إيفان العلاقات الالساسية والتجارية مع إنجلتراوهولندا ومملكة كاختيان وبخارى خانات وكباردا.

كان القيصر من اكثر الناس تعليمافي عصره وكان يمتلك ذاكرةً قوية وسعة اطلاع لاهوتية, وهو مؤلف للعديد منالرسائلوالموسيقى والنصوص لخدمة عيد سيدة فلاديمير,لشريعة لرئيس الملائكة ميخائيل. وقد ساهمفي تنظيم الطباعة في موسكو. كما عمل على بناء كاتدرائية القديس باسيل في الساحة الحمراء.

وصلت قوة روسيا الى أوج عظمتها في عهد إيفان الرابع الملقب بـ (الرهيب) شهد عهده فتح تاتارستان وسيبيريا، وتحول روسيا إلى مجتمع متعدد الأعراق. بين عامي 1530–1584 خاض القيصر إيفان الرابع حروباً وسٌع على إثرها أراضي روسيا وجعل منها إمبراطورية مترامية الأطراف.[3]

فرض ايفان سلطته الشخصية الفردية وسلطة عائلته وليس سلطة الدولة، في 1552 استطاع القيصر الروسي إيفان الرهيب (إيفان الرابع) حصار قازان وإسقاط القبيلة القازانية واحتل الروس أرض الباشكير في سنة 1557 في عهده. كما أصبحت موسكو عاصمة لروسيا في عهده

 

حدث الصراع أمام أعين الدوق الأكبر المستقبلي.

“لم يساعدنا أحد. ليس لدينا سوى الأمل في الله ، والدة الله الأكثر نقاءً ، لجميع القديسين وبركة الوالدين ،
– كتب إيفان الرهيب لاحقًا عن أحداث تلك السنوات للأمير أندريه كوربسكي ، شريكه المقرب. – كنت في ذلك الوقت في الثامنة من عمري ؛ حقق رعايانا رغباتهم – لقد حصلوا على مملكة بدون حاكم ، ولم يهتموا بنا ، نحن ملوكهم ، واندفعوا للحصول على الثروة والمجد وهاجموا بعضهم البعض في نفس الوقت. وماذا لم يفعلوا! كم من البويار والولاة ، المحسنين لوالدنا قتلوا! استولوا على ساحات وقرى وممتلكات أعمامنا واستقروا فيها! .. “

تبنى حاكم المستقبل بسرعة عادات الحكام الآخرين -وقد أصدر أمر الإعدام الأول في سن الثانية عشرة. وأمر بمطاردة البويار أندريه شيسكي بالكلاب وقتله..

، أصبح إيفان الرهيب حاكماً كاملاً في عام 1545 عندما كان يبلغ من العمر 15 عامًا.

وفي عام 1546 قرر الزواج ، لكنه أعرب في البداية عن رغبته في الزواج من المملكة. وفقًا لبعض المؤرخين ، لم تأت مبادرة قبول اللقب الملكي من إيفان نفسه ، ولكن من المطران ماكاريوس ، الذي ارتقى إلى عرش العاصمة عام 1542 من قبل مجموعة من أمراء شيسكي ، ولكن بعد فترة وجيزة بدأوا في معارضتهم.
حتى إيفان الرهيب ، لم يتم الاعتراف رسميًا بلقب القيصر. لأول مرة ، أقيم حفل الزفاف على المملكة في روسيا عام 1498 ، عندما توج دوق موسكو الأكبر إيفان الثالث حفيده ديمتري وريثًا. ومع ذلك ، فقد استخدم لقب “الدوق الأكبر” وليس “القيصر”. لم يتوج ديمتري ولا خليفته فاسيلي الثالث.

المؤرخ البولندي Kazimierz Waliszewski في كتابه “أصل روسيا الحديثة ؛ كتب عن إيفان الرهيب: “كان القيصر والإمبراطور مرادفين  الرلدىوس في ذلك الوقت. صحيح أن لقب القيصر في ذلك الوقت قد فقد بالفعل عظمته بشكل طفيف بسبب حقيقة أن العديد من أمراء التتار ، الذين كانوا بالفعل في معظمهم روافد لأمير موسكو أو الحكام البسطاء لمناطقه ، أطلقوا على أنفسهم أيضًا قياصرة. لكن الأباطرة البيزنطيين حملوا أيضًا هذا اللقب ، وكانوا ملوك تلك الإمبراطورية الشرقية العظيمة ، التي اعتقدوا أنها ستستعيدها مرة أخرى في العاصمة الجديدة للعالم الأرثوذكسي.

حفل زفاف إيفان 

أقيم حفل زفاف إيفان الرهيب في 16 يناير 1547. حدث ذلك في كاتدرائية الصعود في موسكو الكرملين. وضع المتروبوليتان على إيفان علامات الكرامة الملكية: صليب الشجرة الواهبة للحياة ، والبرما (طوق بخطوط دينية ومزينة بالأحجار الكريمة) وقبعة مونوماخ – وباركه بعد الميرون. كما كتب Valishevsky ، “تم قام بكل ما بوسعه لمنحه [الزفاف] أكبر قدر ممكن من الروعة والوقار.
مع حشد كبير من الناس ، مع قرع الأجراس المهيب ، بدا أن الكنيسة والعرش قد اجتمعا في هذا الاحتفال الفردي: رفع الأساقفة والكهنة والرهبان الصلوات إلى الله وطلبوا منه تقوية الملك الجديد بروح العدالة والصدق.،
وكان البويار في ذلك الوقت يمطرون العرش بأمطار من العملات الذهبية التي كانت رمزًا لوفرة تلك الفوائد التي أرادوها له “.

الزواج من أناستاسيا رومانوفنا 

بعد الزفاف ، رتب إيفان مراجعة للعرائس. كما يكتب في كتاب “إيفان الرهيب. زوجات ومحظيات “بلوبيرد” سيرجي نيشيف ، فيما يتعلق باختيار العروس ، كرر إيفان نفس الطريقة التي كانت تستخدم في الزواج الأول لوالده فاسيلي الثالث والتي كانت موجودة حتى بين الأباطرة البيزنطيين. في المدن ، تم إرسال رسائل إلى البويار وأبناء البويار مع أمر تقديم أطفالهم أو قريباتهم إلى المحافظين لمراجعتها ؛ اختار آخرهم الأفضل وأرسلهم إلى موسكو ، وهنا ، بينهم ، اختار القيصر نفسُه عروسًا لنفسه. من بين حشد الجميلات المتجمعات ، اختار إيفان فاسيليفيتش أناستاسيا رومانوفنا زاخارينا يوريفا “.

سمح هذا الزواج لعائلة رومانوف بالارتقاء والمطالبة بالعرش في المستقبل. كان القيصر الأول من منزل رومانوف ، ميخائيل ، ابن شقيق أناستازيا.

مقتل الألاف معظمهم من الأطفال في حريق احياء موسكو والكرملين

 اندلع حريق في كنيسة تمجيد في شارع أربات في موسكو. بسبب الطقس الجاف والرياح ، انتشر الحريق بسرعة من مبنى خشبي إلى آخر ، مما أدى إلى حرق أحياء بأكملها.و وصل الحريق إلى الكرملين ، وهو الأيقونسطاس الذي رسمه أندريه روبليف احترق في كنيسة البشارة. أسفر الحريق عن مقتل الآلاف ، معظمهم من الأطفال.

عائلات  ضحايا الحريق المذنبين إتهمو “السحرة جلينسكي” ، الذين “اقتلعوا قلوب البشر ، وأبقوهم في الماء ، ورشوا شوارع موسكو بتلك المياه ، – لذلك احترقت المدينة تمامًا” ،
كما كتب رودولف بالاندين في كتاب “أسرار العصور المضطربة”.
هرع سكان البلدة المذهولون لقتل كل من اشتبهوا في قيامهم بالسحر. تعرض أحد إخوة والدة إيفان للضرب حتى الموت ، وأرادوا قتل جدته وابنها الآخر. لجأ القيصر مع جميع رعاياه إلى قرية فوروبيوف ، ولكن بعد بضعة أيام داهم المتمردون هناك وطالبوا بتسليم بقية عائلة غلينسكي إليهم. تمكن الحشد المسلح من إقناعهم بالتفرق ، على قناعة بأن عائلة جلينسكي لم تكن في القرية.

كتب المؤرخ السوفيتي والروسي رسلان سكريننيكوف في كتابه “إيفان الرهيب”: “أظهرت الأحداث في موسكو للقيصر إيفان تناقضًا مذهلاً بين أفكاره حول قدراته والوضع الحقيقي للأمور”.

– “من ناحية ، علم القيصر أن سلطته استبدادية وأنها تأتي من الله. من ناحية أخرى ، وضعته الخطوات الأولى للحكومة المستقلة وجهاً لوجه مع الشعب المتمرّد ، الذي رفع يده ضد العائلة المالكة.”
وبعد التعدي المتكرر كان على إيفان للمرة الأولى أن يفكر بجدية في خلاصه وخلاص أحبائه “.
تميز عهد إيفان الرهيب بعدد كبير من الحروب شبه المستمرة. تم احتلال خانات قازان وأستراخان ، وتم ضم غرب سيبيريا وبشكيريا وأراضي قبيلة نوجاي. في ذكرى غزو قازان خانات في عام 1555 ، بموجب مرسوم من القيصر ، تم بناء كنيسة في موسكو ، تُعرف الآن باسم كاتدرائية الشفاعة أو كنيسة القديس باسيل المب

إيفان يعين مرشدين روحيين سندا له 

عين إيفان الكاهن سلفستر مرشداً روحياً له، واتخذ منه ومن ألكسيس أداشيف وزيرين له، وبفضل هذين المعاونين القديرين كان إيفان في سن الحادية والعشرين سيداً على مملكة تمتد من سمولنسك إلى الأورال، ومن المحيط المتجمد إلى بحر قزوين تقريباً.

كان همه الأول تقوية الجيش، والموازنة بين قوى النبلاء المعادين له

عن طريق هيئتين مسئولتين أمامه: فرسان القوزاق ومشاة سترلتس Strieltsi ، قام بذلك  وكانت كل الأرض ملكاً عاماً مشتركاً، ولكنها تؤجر إلى الأسر بصفة فردية لاستخدامها بشكل مؤقت، وكانت الطبقات كلها متساوية أمام القانون. واصبح فرسان القوزاق، بسبب تميزهم بالشجاعة الهائلة، الدعامة الأولى لإيفان الرابع داخل البلاد وفي الحرب.

عمل على تعزيز الدولة المركزية

رتبطت أنشطة إيفان الرهيب ارتباطًا وثيقًا بتعزيز الدولة المركزية الروسية. وهو ما كان له أهمية تاريخية تقدمية كبيرة ، لأنه “فقط الدولة المتحدة في دولة مركزية واحدة يمكن أن تعتمد على إمكانية النمو الثقافي والاقتصادي الجاد ، وعلى إمكانية تأكيد استقلالها”.. عملية توطيد الدولة المركزية واجهت صراعا متوتراً مع الطبقة الأرستقراطية الإقطاعية البويار ، التي سعت إلى الحفاظ على النظام السياسي للتجزئة الإقطاعية التي كانت لصالحها. اعتمدت الأرستقراطية الإقطاعية في هذا الصراع على قوتها الاقتصادية ، ووجود ممتلكات إرثية كبيرة. ولكن نتيجة لجهودات إيفان الرهيب ، تم توجيه ضربة ساحقة إلى بقايا الانقسام الإقطاعي.

توسعت اراضي  روسيا في عهد إيفان الرهيبب، 

تم الاستيلاء على نهر الفولغا ، وهو ما سمح للتجار الروس للابحار إلى بلاد فارس والتجارة مع دول آسيا الوسطى. ومع ذلك ، لم يتم تنفيذ كل ما تصوره القيصر إيفان خلال فترة حكمه. لذلك ، احتاجت روسيا إلى الوصول إلى البحر مثل البر، لكن الفرسان الألمان استولوا على أراضي البلطيق في القرن الثالث عشر. بعد أن بدأت الحرب الليفونية ، إيفان الرهيب انهى أمر النظام الليفوني ، ولكن تم استبدال عدو بآخر: العدوان الرئيسيان لروسيا ليتوانيا وبولندا ، في مواجهة القوة المتنامية لروسيا ، متحدان في دولة واحدة من الكومنولث. دخلت السويد أيضًا الحرب ضد روسيا.. التتار ، الذين دمروا بشكل منهجي أراضي جنوب روسيا ، استخدموا أيضًا تحويل القوات الروسية إلى دول البلطيق. ولعبت خيانة Andrey Kurbsky دورًا مهمًا في الهزائم العسكرية وانتقاله إلى جانب العدو جنبًا إلى جنب مع الجيش. بدأ ، الذي تم انتخابه على العرش البولندي بمساعدة السلطان التركي ، في عام 1379 حملات بهدف الاستيلاء على المناطق الغربية من روسيا. في هذا الوقت ، استولى السويديون على ميناء نارفا التجاري ، المهم بالنسبة للروس.  في 1581 باثور يحاصر بسكوف ، لكن المدافعين الأبطال عن المدينة تمكنوا من صد هجوم جحافل العدو ، مما أجبر باتوري على الذهاب إلى مفاوضات السلام. أُجبرت روسيا على التنازل عن بحر البلطيق للبولنديين ، ولم تتحقق قضية ضم البلطيق لروسيا إلا في القرن الثامن عشر. في أوائل ستينيات القرن السادس عشر. اشتد احتكاك القيصر بالبويار. عانت روسيا من نكسات في الحرب الليفونية والقتال ضد القرم. اشتبه القيصر في خيانة من البويار ، في عام 1560 قام بتفريق Chosen Rada ، وفي عام 1564 قدم أوبريتشنينا – وهو نظام حكم بموجبه إيفان الرهيب جزءًا من البلاد دون علم بويار دوما..

سياسته الخارجية

وصلت قوة روسيا الى أوج عظمتها في عهد إيفان الرابع الملقب بـ (الرهيب). وكان هدف السياسة الخارجية لإيفان الرهيب هو تحطيم بقايا الأورطة الذهبية التي كانت قد انقسمت الى عدد من الخانيات.

في عام 1552 تم إخضاع قازان ومن بعدها أستراخان وتوغل الروس في سيبيريا وتقدموا نحو الشرق. وفي هذه الأثناء أعلن إيفان الرهيب نفسه قيصرا على روسيا وهو الذي عرف بأنه أحد أقسى حكام روسيا

اتت سياسته الخارجية بسيطة، فهو  يريد أن تربط روسيا بين بحر البلطيق وبحر قزوين. وكانت كازان واستراخان والقرم لا تزال في قبضة التتار الذين كانوا لا يفتأون يطالبون موسكو بالجزية، ولكن عبثاً. وكان إيفان على يقين من أن أمن روسيا ووحدتها يتطلبان امتلاكها لهذه الأجزاء، والتحكم في نهر الفولجا حتى منابعه. وفي 1552 قاد القيصر الشاب 150.000 رجل إلى أبواب كازان وحاصرها لمدة خمسين يوماً. ولكن المسلمين – وكان عددهم 30.000 – قاوموا وصمدوا في عناد تحدوهم الروح الدينية وهاجموا أعداءهم في غارات متكررة، وعندما أسر نفر منهم وعلقوا على أعواد المشانق أمام الأسوار سدد إخوانهم المدافعون إليهم السهام صائحين: “خير لهؤلاء الأسرى أن يموتوا بأيدي بني وطنهم النظيفة من أن يهلكوا بأيدي المسيحيين الدنسة(9). ولما وهنت عزائم المحاصرين واصابهم القنوط بعد شهر من الاخفاق، أرسل إيفان إلى موسكو في طلب صليب عجيب، فما أن ظهرت هذه الأعجوبة أمام جنوده حتى ثارت حميتهم من جديد، وكان الله يحارب مع الجانبين. وبث مهندس ألماني الألغام في الأسوار فانهارت، واندفع الروس إلى المدينة صائحين “الله معنا”، واعملوا الذبح في كل من لم يباعوا بوصفهم رقيقاً. وروى أن إيفان ذرف الدمع حسرة على المغلوبين قائلاً: “إنهم ليسوا مسيحيين، ولكنهم رجال” وأسكن إيفان فلول المسيحيين في الأطلال. وهتفت روسيا بأنه أول سلافي يستولي على معقل تتري، واحتفلت بالنصر، كما احتفلت فرنسا بصد المسلمين في معركة تور سنة 1732. وفي 1554 استولى إيفان على استراخان، وأصبح نهر الفولجا قناة روسية تماماً. وظلت القرم في يد المسلمين حتى 1774.ولكن القوزاق أنذاك أحنو رؤووسهم لحماة موسكو. وما أن حرر إيفان حدوده في الشرق حتى ولى شطره متلهفاً نحو الغرب. وكان يراوده حلم تجارة روسية تتدفق غرباً وشمالاً عبر الأنهار الكبرى إلى البلطيق، وكان يحسد غرب أوروبا على التوسع الصناعي والتجاري، وكان يلتمس للاقتصاد الروسي منفذاً يربط به نفسه بهذا التوسع. وفي 1553 أرسل تجار لندن سير هبو ولفبي Hugh Willoughlby وريتشارد تشانسلر لايجاد طريق في المنطقة المتجمدة حول اسكنديناوة وصولا إلى الصين، فأبحرا من هاروك Harwich في ثلاثة مراكب، وهلك اثنان من الملاحين في الشتاء في لابلند، ولكن تشانسلر وصل إلى الموقع الذي أسماه البريطانيون أركنجلسك، على اسم الملاك ميخائيل، وشق تشانسلر طريقه وسط مئات الأخطار والصعاب إلى موسكو، فعقد معه إيفان، ثم مع أنطوني جنكنسني فيما بعد، معاهدات تخول “شركة لندن والمسكوف” امتيازات تجارية خاصة في روسيا.

ولكن هذه المعاهدات كانت بالنسبة لإيفان مجرد ثقوب، ولم تكن باباً أو منفذاً إلى الغرب، وأراد أن يستجلب فنيين من ألمانيا، وحشد له من هؤلاء 123 في لوبك، ولكن شارل الخامس رفض السماح لهم بالخروج. وكان النهر الكبير دوينا الجنوبي يجري من قلب روسيا ألى البلطيق قرب ريجا، ولكنه يجري عبر ليفونيا المعادية. ولم تكن منابع دوينا والفلجا بعيدة بعضها عن بعض، ومن ثم يمكن ربط النهرين بقنوات، وهنا، يحكم “القدر ” كان الطريق المائي الذي يمكن أن يعوض روسيا عن عدم تناسب أراضيها المترامية الأطراف مع سواحلها وثغورها، ومن ثم يمكن أن يتصل بحر البلطيق ببحر قزوين والبحر الأسود، كما يمكن أن يلتقي الشرق والغرب. وفي تبادل السلع والأفكار قد يستطيع الغرب أن يسدد شيئاً من دينه الثقافي القديم للشرق.

وعلى ذلك فإن إيفان في سنة 1557 ابتكر ذريعة لمهاجمة ليفونيا، وأرسل إليها بجيش تحت قيادة شاه على ، الذي كان أخيراً خان التتار على كازان. واجتاح الجيش البلاد بطريقة وحشية، فأحرق الدور والمحاصيل، واستبعد الرجال واغتصب النساء حتى الموت. وفي 1558 استولى جيش روسي آخر على نارفا التي تبعد عن البلطيق بثمانية أميال. واستنجدت ليفونيا اليائسة ببولندة والدانمارك والسويد وألمانيا، وارتعدت أوروبا الوسطى بأسرها فزعا من مشهد الطوفان السلافي الذي وصل إلى الغرب، كما وصل في القرن السادس إلى نهر الألب. واستثار ستيفن باثوري حمية البولنديين وقادهم إلى الانتصار على الروس عند بولتسك (1582). ولما حلت الهزيمة بإيفان سلم ليفونيا إلى بولندة.

سياسته الداخلية

سعى إيفان الرابع في سياسته الداخلية بفاعلية في محاربة التجزئة الإقطاعية، وكان يهدف الى بناء أمة قوية. وقيل أنه كان يتعامل بقسوة مع معارضيه، فقد كانت الطريقة المفضلة له في التعذيب هي تهشيم الارجل قبل أن يلقي بالضحايا في الثلج او جعلهم يزحفون ويطلبوا الرحمة. وفي عهد ايفان كانت العوائل النبيلة وحتى خدمهم من الاهداف الرئيسية للقمع والتنكيل، وكانت تجرى عمليات اغتصاب وقتل جماعي للنساء الارستقراطيات، وفي بعض الاحيان كانت تباد مجتمعات بأكملها او يتم التخلص منها بأي شكل من الاشكال.

لمحة سريعة عن تاريخ روسيا

الفترة المظلمة

كان فيودور، ابن إيفان الرابع حاكما ضعيفا ومريضا، وتوفي دون أن يكون لديه وريث للعرش. وبوفاته تكون فترة حكم سلالة ريوريك قد انتهت. بعد هذا استلم السلطة بوريس غودونوف شقيق زوجة القيصر المتوفي. وقد اتهم كثيرون القيصر بوريس بأنه من خطط لقتل دميتري الابن الأصغر لإيفان الرهيب. فاستغل البولنديون هذا الأمر وأعلنوا الحرب ثانية على روسيا، بحجة إعادة السلطة الى صاحبها الشرعي، الذي قالوا عنه، إنه نجا بإعجوبة من عملية الاغتيال، وأعلنوه وريثا للعرش في روسيا. توفي القيصر بوريس غودونوف في عام 1605، وحصل في البلاد عصيان شعبي ضد ابنه، استغله المحتال دميتري المنتحل صفة الوريث الشرعي ليجلس على العرش في موسكو. ولكن حكمه استمر أقل من سنة، حيث دفع تعسف البولنديين الذين جاؤوا معه  الناس إلى الانتفاضة التي أدت في نهاية المطاف الى قتل القيصر دميتري الكذاب أو المحتال. ومع ذلك ظهر محتال آخر باسم دميتري أيضا. وسميت هذه الفترة من تاريخ روسيا بـ «الفترة المظلمة»، حيث تخللها تغير رأس السلطة باستمرار وانتفاضات شعبية وظهور محتالين، إضافة الى الغزو البولندي والسويدي، مما أدى الى توجيه ضربة شديدة الى الاقتصاد والى تقلص عدد السكان كثيرا. وبعد أن وضعت المقاومة الشعبية بقيادة كوزما مينين والأمير دميتري بوجارسكي، نهاية لهذه الفترة المظلمة عام 1612، وتم طرد الغزاة البولنديين، اجتمع الأعيان وممثلو كافة طبقات الشعب وانتخبوا ميخائيل رومانوف قيصرا على روسيا، الذي كانت تربطه علاقة قربى بالقيصر إيفان الرهيب من جهة الام.

جدل حول وفاة إيفان الرهيب

تزوج إيفان الرهيب ثماني مرات ، ولكن على عكس معاصره الأكبر سنًا هنري الثامن ، لم يعدم زوجاته ، بل أرسلهن فقط إلى الدير.

أما وفاته فقد اثارت على مدار السنوات جدلا فيما إذا ا كان مات مسموما  أم (خنقا) أم  نتيجة مرض الزهري كما اعتقد البعض.. فقد اشارت الفحوصات التي أجريت عام 1963  إلى وجود كميات من الزئبق في بقايا العظام.

توفي القيصر إيفان الرابع الرهيب في موسكوفي 18 مارس 1584 ودُفن في كاتدرئية رئيس الملائكة  في الكرملين في موسكو..
